Deeper furrow-maker for single row transplanters. This replaces the existing furrow-maker on your transplanter and is attached with 6 bolts. It was originally developed in conjunction with slightly deeper paper chain pots. It creates a furrow that is just over 3/4 of an inch (2cm) deeper. Some growers (including Ben Hartman author of The Lean Farm and The Lean Microfarm) are finding that it can improve transplanting results for certain crops in a wider range of soil types/conditions, including reduced/no-till systems. It was not designed for this purpose but it can help improve performance.
